“A propulsive, high-stakes thriller—Robert McCaw delivers a gripping tale of espionage, betrayal, and deception amid the race to expose Russian moles at the highest levels of the U.S. government. Tense, timely, and full of international intrigue, Traitors will keep you on the edge of your seat. Highly recommended.”

“Surprising, smart, and cleverly told.”
–New York Times Bestselling Author Steve Berry
“Combining the espionage thriller with the legal thriller, this riveting novel explores the Department of Justice’s little-known National Security Division. The theme of Traitors reminds me of the classic Seven Days in May.”

About the Book
A DOJ counterintelligence lawyer pursues a Russian spy ring embedded at the heart of the American government. As Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Counterintelligence in the DOJ’s National Security Division, Robert Cooper has built a storied career distinguished by high profile arrests and prosecutions of enemy spies. One morning, he’s approached by a Russian sleeper agent looking to defect. The agent offers Cooper alarming information: Russian operatives have infiltrated the US government at its highest levels, including a mole in the senior ranks of the FBI. Cooper’s investigations lead to the discovery of a clandestine Russian operation—code named Operation Viper— involving deep cover agents in senior government positions. As Cooper and his team at the DOJ race to uncover the Kremlin’s plans and smoke out the traitors, a coup in Russia brings to power a militant extremist regime seemingly intent on sidelining the US on the world stage while Russia retakes its former Soviet territories. Thus begins Robert B. McCaw’s fast-paced novel that mixes high stakes political intrigue with riveting moments of international espionage.
