Oddkins: A Fable for All Ages is the story of a group of living toys known as the Oddkins. The Oddkins are made for very special children who face difficulties in life and need true friends, especially during times of adversity. But the Oddkins, or the “good toys,” have powerful enemies. Locked up in the dark subbasement, other toys are climbing out of boxes and crates and coming to life. These are the “bad toys”—let loose upon the world by a terrible, terrifying force. The Oddkins have to face a danger that threatens not only their magic, but the magic in us all.

With Oddkins, which is beautifully illustrated and visually stunning, Dean Koontz introduces a dazzling world of toys and terror, exploring the fears we all face in the dark.

Dean Koontz won an Atlantic Monthly fiction competition when he was a senior in college and has been writing ever since. His books are published in thirty-six languages and have sold more than 450 million copies. Koontz’s newest novel, Odd Apocalypse: An Odd Thomas Novel, goes on sale from Bantam on July 31.

Fourteen of Koontz’s novels have risen to #1 on the New York Times hardcover bestseller list, making him one of only a dozen writers ever to have achieved that distinction. Seventeen of his books have risen to the #1 position in paperback. His books have been major bestsellers in Japan, Sweden, and many other countries. The New York Times has called his writing “psychologically complex, masterly and satisfying.” Rolling Stone has hailed him as “America’s most popular suspense novelist.”
